MEET THE CANDIDATE

The committee to elect Jamie Lineberger is excited to announce Jamie is running for reelection to the Board of County Commissioners. During Jamie’s first term as a commissioner he has shown and proven his leadership skills, maintained a level headed approach while advocating for a balanced county budget, the county schools, public safety, county employee retention and the improvement of the county’s infrastructure. Jamie has been instrumental in the following:

• Standardizing an application for county funding request
• Working with county departments to improve budget requests
• Bringing the school board, sheriff’s office and commissioners together to create a safer school environment by setting up and funding School Resource Officers for all county schools
• Working with the school board to set up a budget funding model so that the school board can plan yearly finances in a more efficient manner leading to educational, staffing and facility improvements
• Revamping the sheriff’s office and emergency services pay scale to help retain employees
• Advocating for funding for performing arts, as well as, funding for the remodeling of the citizen’s center and cultural center.

He was elected chairman of the board by the other four commissioners in his third and fourth years. Jamie’s core principles and values have not changed or wavered. He plans to continue asking the difficult questions, working with county management to hold departments accountable to improve budget requests, keeping the tax rate low, continuing to support economic growth, supporting development of infrastructure and infrastructure improvements, public safety and education.
